Case Study: AIRspinner at the european soccer championship

European Football Championship in Germany – something special has to happen! Our customer thought exactly that when he booked our AIRspinners for his promotional campaign at three locations in the fan zones in Munich, Hamburg and Berlin in parallel for the entire period from mid-June to mid-July. The aim was not just to make videos, but rather to positively associate visitors with the brand through appropriate interaction and a competition in which they could win tickets for the final in Berlin.

Our solution

Visitors to the fan zones were able to earn high scores through a football game and, in addition to a standard giveaway as a thank you for taking part in the game, had our AIRspinners film the action and download the short video clip directly to their cell phone and post it on social media. To do this, it was necessary to completely reprogram the process, including automatically reading out the score achieved in the football game, transmitting it to the video computer, creating the video clip with details of the achieved high score in the video file and connecting it to the customer’s competition database. The gallery was reprogrammed specifically for the customer and of course designed in the complete customer CI including an individual user interface. To let the player download his video, a special ticket printer was used, like the one used at events (so you have a „real“ ticket in your hand), on which, in addition to the current high score, there was also a QR code printed to download his video clip. This “ticket” was also completely designed and printed in the customer CI. In addition to an unusual video output that was happily shared, there were also tickets for the final soccer game in Berlin the player could win. Germany didn’t become European champions, but hey – be part of the game is everything. 🙂 After over 2 million visitors in the three fan zones alone and over 12.000 video clips made, it can be said that the campaign was a complete success.

Output

The output was deliberately created in the Instagram-typical 9:16 format (portrait) in order to achieve maximum distribution on these channels. Everyone likes to share such unique content. 🙂

Cell phone download with QR-Code

With the directly printed ticket, on which the individual result of the football event and a QR code were printed, each player could download his video directly. The ticket itself was also taken home as a souvenir. The wastepaper baskets that were set up remained surprisingly nearly empty. 🙂
